After reading a post on Archery talk it sparked a interest in me to try cresting some arrows. I had a rechargeable screw driver that was being a dust collector LOL and I used this to spin my arrows I may posts pics later of how I geared that up..I took and taped off one arrow and the vanes and sprayed with gloss white lacquer paint first ( I will be trying bare shaft in near future but have none on hand..on AT there was one guy who said to use sharpie paint markers well lets just say that was huge fail LOL I had myself covered when shaking it without lid on LOL I then decided to try some airbrush paint that I used for decoys a few years ago... Here are a few pics of my first try notice how bad the paint marker looks compared to the brushed paint!!! I just did a bunch of lines of colors to see how it would be ...now I have paint and good brushes on the to get list!! Still gotta improve alot but hey gotta start somewhere! I will have some flashy fun shooting arrows LOL

They look good Justin. Did you weigh the arrow before and after you painted them to see if there is a difference? Just wondering if there is a noticable change. Randy

Nice Justin, for me I think the arrows are fine as they come, LOL dont think they would look good on a black darton LOL.... Should make a bunch of these bright colours for young people getting into the sport so they dont loose to many. Last set are nice ones! I see your fletchings are off-set, I started fletching my own and thats how I do them, what a difference!!

To each their own? ;D Some folks prefer all camo or black.... but others are flashy, like bright colors, wanting to be different and stand out from the "norm".

hey dropzone it was easy to do, I used Dupli-color white Lacquer I got at Canadian tire in auto section and the green and pink are Rust-Oleum florescent spray paint....the sliver was dupli-color car touch up paint and black is acrylic airbrush paint
I made my arrow spinner using a a old mastercraft rechargeable screw driver mounted to a board that was long enough to accept my arrows length I tried a Phillips head bit to spin the arrows and it worked but I found it wasn't as true as if I used a nock and just use no bit and let the nock slide into the screwdriver
I found the sliver car paint was a tad thick but looked good ...I am trying to find a hobby shop to buy some more airbrush paint and also i want to try to clear coat over it all...this wont be done till I am able to do bare shafts as with vanes on its pain in the rear!!
