I'm hoping to have the time to flatten my little clearing I hunt to make into a food plot next year but not certain it'll happen, I usually just use apples or carrots but wanna try something different this year, I've heard a few people talk about that rut n apple, maybe have to look into that.
had a buddy tell me he takes a can of apple juice and just punches a little hole in it and hangs it in a tree, says to fill a spray bottle with apple juice and spray behine you as you walk into your site too, don't imagine it'll cover your scent but might help keep from it scaring deer off that comes across your path.
another buddy of mine swears by peanut butter, says to smear it on a couple trees by your stand and they'll stand there and lick the bark clean off the tree. back to his camp is the better part of a day drive/canoe/hike etc... to get there so he says instead of lugging apples or carrots he brings a jar of peanut butter everytime

I love the buck jam,it works really good, attracts deer from a long ways, the scent is strong.

They are steady on my peanut butter (no joke), not interested in corn. they have taken a few apples but switching to carrots.
