Here's the buck I've been hunting for 2 seasons now. We've named him "Mr. Big" for obvious reasons. It all started in 2009 with this picture...
He was a regular visitor that year but only at night. My camera took a picture of him on the last day of rifle season so I figured he was safe for another year. He was like a ghost.
Fast forward to 2010. My camera was placed on the same tree for the entire month of October. He finally showed up near the end of the month but again, only at night. November 1st rolled around and I decided against sitting that morning. Valley roosters were calling my name and I had to scratch the itch. Look who made a rare daylight appearance while I was busting pheasant cover. Look at the time stamp...

On my next walk in, a deer of GREAT significance busted me 20 yards from my stand despite perfect wind conditions. I never saw it but I assumed it was him. It sounded like a freight train crashing through the woods when it ran. There wasn't one more picture of him after that. I guess there's a reason that he's that big.
Did he make it? Who knows. I can only hope that he did. If so, I can't WAIT to see him this year! He's a buck of a lifetime!
